What Do You Need Done, Music Wise?

Who, What, Where, When, Why, How ................ The community partner I will be partnering with is the teen outreach program Straight Up. I would like to be identified to the public as a musician, audio engineer and music teacher. I do not have any co-leaders that I will be working with on my project. I do not think I will need any support from my fellow capstone students. It would be cool to have a whiteboard but I assume there will be material in the classrooms already. My workshops with Straight Up will occur, starting as soon as possible, Thursdays after school from 3 to 6 pm. We have not set exact dates because Katherine and Kelly are still deciding on when they want to begin. The workshops will take place in Ventura and the schools the children attend. The community partners needs are being met by me providing an after school music program for the communities children. My music lessons will consist of me playing popular songs over speakers and having the children identify the musical structure of the songs. Such as the chorus, verse or bridge. Then I will hand out percussion instruments and we will learn some rhythms. Next, we will delve into the chord structures of songs and begin to sing together as a group with me backing them up on acoustic guitar and vocals.
